Rector - Ally Liedtke
Ally Liedtke is a Pacific Northwest native who grew up in Seattle, WA and attended college in Portland, OR. She graduated from the University of Portland (UP) with a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and a minor in Computer Science. Ally continued her journey at Boston College (BC), where she pursued a Master of Arts in Higher Education with a concentration in spirituality, faith, and formation. She spent two years working in BC’s Campus Ministry, serving as the Graduate Assistant for Appa Volunteers – a spring break service immersion program.
This will now be Ally’s 4th year as the Rector of Ryan Hall. She loves Ryan dearly and is grateful every day to call it home. In her free time, Ally enjoys iced coffee, listening to Harry Styles, watching Lord of the Rings, playing board games, spending time with Tom (her cat) and Bella (her dog), and laughing with friends. Oh, and spending time with residents every Thursday morning for Coffee & Donuts w/ Ally 🙂 Contact: [email protected] |
Assistant Rector - Alexis Waldschmidt

Hometown: Naperville, Illinois
Major: Biological Sciences Graduate Student (Undergraduate Majors: Biological Sciences and Chinese)
Campus Involvement: Volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Volunteer with the Christ Child Society of South Bend, and Member of Enable ND. As an undergraduate, I was also a Violinist in the Notre Dame Symphony Orchestra, a Peer Mentor with Uplift, a Hall Clerk, and was involved in several positions as a Tutor, Teaching Assistant, and Research Assistant on campus. If you have any questions on getting involved in any of these activities, please don’t hesitate to reach out :)!
Favorite ND Tradition: Gamedays! It is so much fun being surrounded by friends and taking part in the excitement and electricity shared by the whole ND community.
Favorite spot on campus: Walking around the lakes with Ozy while he (seemingly purposefully) rolls his balls into the water and jumps in to rescue them.
Fun fact about me: I am a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
Fun fact about Ozy: I adopted him from a rescue in Michigan and named him after Percy Shelley’s poem “Ozymandias.”

Assistant Rector - Shea Murphy

Hometown: Staten Island, NY
Major: Law School (Sadly no more majors, just law school)
Most Excited For: It has been so wonderful to be back at ND and I can't wait to be a part of a dorm community again! I'm really looking forward to meeting the amazing residents of Ryan and getting to know everyone!
What I Like to Do for Fun: Bake, Crossword Puzzles, Read (aka listen to audiobooks)
NDUndergrad: I graduated from ND in 2022 and majored in History and FTT with minors in Digital Marketing and Irish Studies. I lived in McGlinn Hall where I was involved in hall council as a commissioner, served as McGlinn's senator, and had the privilege of being an RA!
Post-Grad: After graduating, I moved to England where I got my master's degree in history from the University of Cambridge. My dissertation focused on the role of politically active women during the Northern Ireland Troubles. I was lucky enough to do a lot of travelling while living over there, so when I wasn't in the archives, I was usually rushing to catch some plane or train!
